Embracing the Freedom of Solo Travel

Travelling solo can feel like a daunting experience but it also allows oneself to step outside their comfort zone and find new areas of personal growth. Whether it’s a bucket list trip you have always dreamt of, or an impulse decision, we promise the solo traveler that they’ll find the adventure, yet safety net, they’re looking for when embarking out on their own.

Bluewater Guest: A Profile

Bluewater Adventures trips are designed to be immersive and community building at their core, so the solo traveler will find a welcoming and inclusive environment at the get go. Our travelers are like-minded in their spirits: willing to venture off the beaten path, looking for an opportunity to expand their worldview and knowledge, and not shy to get a little wet and muddy in the hunt for new experiences. Both the well-seasoned traveler or the fresh adventurer will discover something new on a Bluewater trip, and both will find connection amongst each other at their shared experience onboard. Through bouncing zodiac rides, to huddled bear viewing, to a before dinner glass of wine, our trips offer both time for reflection and connection for the couple and solo traveler alike.

There are a few different ways one can travel solo on our trips depending on your own preference of accommodation:

Single Supplement Fee

If you would like your own cabin guaranteed during your voyage with us, the second berth in your cabin can be purchased at 50% of the regular expedition fees + tax. Space is limited and will be presented on a first come, first served basis.

Sharing a Cabin

If you do not have a travel companion, you can solo at no extra charge, and you may be paired with another solo traveler of the same gender in your cabin. You are welcome to make special cabin requests in advance, and although we cannot make guarantees, we will do our best to fulfill them.

Benefits of Solo Travel

Is there anything more difficult than trying to decide on what to have for dinner with another person? When traveling solo, it’s all your way, all the time. Your agenda is your prerogative (and the captain’s, of course) allowing you to really dive into the topics onboard you find the most interesting. Whether it’s helping out in the galley with one of our talented chefs, hunkering down on deck to wildlife spot with our keen-eyed naturalist, or sitting in the wheelhouse being regaled by stories from our captain, the solo traveler has ample time and opportunity to experience a Bluewater trip their way.
